3.3.1 Cable Connections – Standalone (Non-Redundant) Operation
In non-redundant (also referred to as standalone or single thread) upconverter configurations
the upconverter has an Input/Output Module (IOM-XX) for the RF Input and the IF Output. An
upconverter with a Transmit Switch Module (TSM-XX) may be operated in a non-redundant
configuration if an IOM is unavailable.
Figure 3-4 shows a non-redundant configuration using with an IOM installed; Figure 3-5 shows
cabling accomplished with a TSM installed.
