10.9 Databases
10.9.1 Local database
10.9.1.1 Configuring the database settings
In System Display, do these steps:
1. Choose
Admin ‣ Database.
2. In the
Database Settings section, click the Local Database tab.
3. Select the
Active check box.
4. Specify these database properties:
•
Db – Name of the local database
•
Db Server – Name (or IP address) of the server that hosts the local database
•
User ID – User name with which the NetVue has to log on to the local database
•
Password – Password with which the NetVue has to log on to the local database
•
Connection string
• Max. Alarms – The maximum number of Alarms that can be stored in the local database
•
Fallback minimum – If the maximum number of Alarms setting has been reached, the oldest
Alarms will automatically be deleted so that, after the deletion, the database contains exactly
the number of Alarms specified in the
Fallback Minimum box
•
Months to keep – The number of months that the Alarms will be kept in the local database
5. Click
Apply.
NOTE: The
and
settings overrule the
setting.
10.9.1.2 Querying a local database
In System Display, do these steps to query the local database:
1. Choose
Admin ‣ Database.
2. In the
Database Settings section, click the Query Executor tab.
3. In the
NetVue selection box, select the NetVue Agent to query.
4. In the
Query text box, enter the SQL query and click Execute.
5. Click
Recent to select a previously entered query.
6. Click
> to get information about commonly used SQL commands.
